Random ramblings from a guy who's enjoying the ride...my thoughts on what God's been teaching me lately...who know what might all show up here...I guess it's a place for me to keep a slightly more public version of my daily journaling. Unreal

It's 12:17 a.m. Just got home from Liane's place. Had the most amazing evening chasing, and the running from the craziest thunderstorm I can remember. We drove out into the country to watch it, and the clouds were black and all sorts of crazy shapes, but there was no rain yet. All of a sudden it got very windy and cold. And then all hail broke loose ;) It was pretty freaky. I've never been in a car when it has hailed like that. Most of them were about the size of a jawbreaker gumball, but some would have been as big as golf balls. They smoked the car so hard I thought for sure the windows were going to smash. It was so dark that we couldn't even see what the clouds looked like except when the lightning struck (which was pretty much every second) and that was kinda scary 'cause there was no way of seeing if there was a tornado. So we decided we should probably head back to town. Well driving only made the hail seem worse, 'cause we were hitting it head on. We went back to my place and waited until the hail had stopped enough to run inside, grab Liane's stuff, and then we drove to her place. We spent the next hour and a half watching the lightning and listening to the thunder and rain pound the earth. It was absolutely breathtaking. Who needs fireworks?!

HAPPY DAY!

Yes that's right...Happy Day! 'Cause it's more than just Canada Day! Today is six months for Liane and I! And I'm actually here to spend it with her, instead of somewhere on the Maah Daah Hey. Oh yeah...here's the real quick version of what happened there: Three of us developed such nasty blisters that there was no way we could finish the trail, so we quit after hiking around 23 miles. Never have experienced pain when walking like that. Every step felt like flaming bamboo stalks were being shoved up the back of my legs from my heels. And I'll have something to remember it by for a while...two of my toes turned black during the hike, and the nails will likely fall off. We were back home on tuesday, today is friday, and I still can't put shoes on because of the blisters. But we had such a great time...it really was an adventure.
So today Liane and I are spending the day at Grand Beach with Heinrich & Irene & family. Should be a hoot. Ok, ta ta for now!
