Unreal
It's 12:17 a.m. Just got home from Liane's place. Had the most amazing evening chasing, and the running from the craziest thunderstorm I can remember. We drove out into the country to watch it, and the clouds were black and all sorts of crazy shapes, but there was no rain yet. All of a sudden it got very windy and cold. And then all hail broke loose ;) It was pretty freaky. I've never been in a car when it has hailed like that. Most of them were about the size of a jawbreaker gumball, but some would have been as big as golf balls. They smoked the car so hard I thought for sure the windows were going to smash. It was so dark that we couldn't even see what the clouds looked like except when the lightning struck (which was pretty much every second) and that was kinda scary 'cause there was no way of seeing if there was a tornado. So we decided we should probably head back to town. Well driving only made the hail seem worse, 'cause we were hitting it head on. We went back to my place and waited until the hail had stopped enough to run inside, grab Liane's stuff, and then we drove to her place. We spent the next hour and a half watching the lightning and listening to the thunder and rain pound the earth. It was absolutely breathtaking. Who needs fireworks?!

Well, you know, when Bruce and I were going to come home from his parents house, it was far too stormy, and it started hailing, so we went back (we only got just down the street). On our way back we saw these two pieces of metal lying on the road. They were about three feet long or so. It turns out it was part of the neighbor's trampoline. They think there may have been a small funnel cloud in their back yard, cause their trampoline was ripped apart, and ended up in the school yard. There was no sign of it being dragged on the ground or anything, so I don't know if it could have just been strong winds. Also, their chicken fence thingy was relocated in their garden, and Bruce's dad's plastic lawn chairs disappeared.
