Song of the Day

Here's a song from the new Mae CD, "The Everglow". A very highly recommended CD on Warren's list of recommendations :) It's a sonic-symphony-of-delight! If you've got iTunes, the songs "Anything", "Ocean", "The Sun and the Moon", "We're So Far Away", The Everglow", "Ready and Waiting to Fall" are a must...the rest are great too. Ok. This song gives me shivers every time I hear the church bell kinda noises, and the guitars, and the lyrics that just seem to lift my spirit every time. Good tune indeed.

"Anything"
- Mae -
From the album "The Everglow"

Love.
It's a wave I ride that won't ever reach the shore
Overwhelmed by the tide and wanting nothing more
tonight, than to take this time and make it all mine
It's coming around again...

(this is where the chorus gets nice and heavyish-you gotta hear this song!)
Every now and again sometimes I get lost on the wind of a dream
The air gets clean and the seas get wide and I can do anything
The pain it won't even cross my mind, there is wonder in everything
The rope gets loose and the chains unbind and I can do anything

Hope.
It's the light that strikes, that burns inside fo me
It's a blinding light but somehow I can see again when I've lost my way
It's becoming very clear
And it's coming around again

Somewhere between the darkness and the light
my spirit takes to flight
The colors fill the sky and I am free

Hope you didn't mind the colors...the song lifts my mood, and when I'm in a good mood, I love color. and food. which reminds me. it's time for breakfast. yay!

Verse of the Day

Proverbs 30:1-9

The sayings of Agur son of Jakeh - an oracle:
This man declared to Ithiel, to Ithiel and to Ucal:

"I am the most ignorant of men; I do not have a man's understanding.
I have not learned wisdom, nor have I knowledge of the Holy One.
Who has gone up to heaven and come down?
Who has gathered up the wind in the hollow of his hands?
Who has wrapped up the wters in his cloak?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is his name, and the name of his son?
Tell me if you know!

Every single word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

Two things I ask of you, O Lord; do not refuse me before I die:
Keep falsehood and lies far from me;
give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.
Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say. 'Who is the Lord?'
Or I my become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God."

Never seen a child love dogs so much...she giggled like crazy every time Charlie came close to her :) Charlie's a pretty nice doggy. Madeline has a nice doggy of her own and I think his name is Murphy. Charlie really like Liane too...he sat his head down on her lap while she scratched his head, and he drooled a nice sized puddle on her shorts :)

Nooooooo!

SUCKED! Today is my last day off before the trip, and it was supposed to be a training day, hiking with Heinrich. Instead, I am sick. Felt it comin' on yesterday before work, and had to leave Bible classes early. Slept from 8:00 last night 'til 9:00 this morning. It's not a debilitating flu or anything, but my whole body aches, and I have noooo energy. I don't appreciate colds, and therefore I usually don't let them stop me from doing what I want to do. I've never missed a day of work yet from being sick. But today, that's out of the question. I look outside and it would appear to be an absolutely prime day for hiking. Man, I would trade one sick day in summer for 10 sick days in winter. Yup. But maybe it's a good thing. My house is a mess. And since I can't walk fast, it should take me all day to clean it up. Yay! Or maybe I'll just lay on the deck all day drinking in sunlight and sippin' water through a straw. Good times indeed :)

Another Pleasant Valley Sunday

Wow, for a day where the forecast was for cloud and scattered showers, I was pleasantly surprised! What a gorgeous day! And an exciting one toO! Two cousins were born on the same day half way around the world (for some great pictures check out Irene's Blog). First Nelly's sister Lori had a baby girl in Germany (Laila Madlen), and wouldn't you know it, Nelly had her baby on the same day! Wow, you gotta admit that's pretty cool. And the initials of the babies names are L.M and M.L. Pretty weird huh? It's almost like the had planned it;)
Today was pretty exciting for Liane too. The women from church had a bridal shower for her and Tara (another girl from church who's getting married about a month before us), so I went over to Heinrich's place. Had a lot of fun playing Lego with the kids, and then going for a walk to the bridge by the Shire. In the evening we had a fire at my place with a bunch of friends. Good times indeed.

I am in love with clouds. I can't stop thinking about them. Maybe it's not really love...just infatuation, but whatever the case, I think they're amazing. The last couple of weeks they've been so awesome. I don't remember them being this good last year. And I can say clouds in german: "wolke". Yup, Liane's been giving me a few german lessons lately. Not sure how much of it is sticking though. It's a crazy language. On saturday she taught me the word for "humid", but the word for "gays" is almost exactly the same. So, I probably won't use that one until I'm real good at german :)
