Good Times @ the Beach
The last two days were hot and humid...nearly perfect weather for a little R&R at the beach. Except it was no rest & relaxation...more like ruckus & recreation. Sunday afternoon we celebrated Noah's 5th birthday at the lake, and then monday evening Liane and I went to the lake with Willie & Ellie, and Markus. The girls thought the water was too cold or something so they stayed on the beach, but we guys had a blast playing tag, an interesting version of football, and of course, soccer. Willie and Ellie came over afterwards for some ice cream and a little laughter. Good times indeed.
So saturday night Liane and I went to the drive-in theatre for the first time ever. I think it would have been fun if it wasn't for the crazy heat, humidity, and rabid mosquitos. There was a decent breeze, so if we opened all the windows, the heat was nearly bearable, but the mosquitos would eat us alive, if we closed the windows, we melted. We turned the air on for a while, but I was scared the battery would go dead on us. By the end of the movie the mosquitos had gone to sleep and we could leave the windows open without being harassed. Must have been a tiring day, 'cause I half-slept through the last half an hour. Judging by how hard it was to get up this morning, I'd say it was a tiring weekend, but a great one nonetheless.
And so the time has come to go back to work. It's gonna be a busy week at the store...the owners son is getting married this coming weekend so they're gone, and Gretna is going to Sonshine Festival (lucky!).
Hey, almost forgot...a big CONGRATULATIONS to my cousin Anita who had a baby on sunday, and Olga Rogalsky who had a baby monday morning.
Cya,
