Post Part-eh
Hey, a big thank you to Keith, Bruce and Nat for throwing my bachelor party last night, and for all the guys (Nat, Bruce, Keith, Heinrich, Dustin, Justin, Markus, Willy, Rob, Sheldon, Leighton, and Joey) who showed up. The whole thing was a blast!
We hit the bowling lanes first for a little five-pin action. None of the guys in my lane had ever bowled five-pin before, so we had no idea that you get three throws every time instead of two. By the fifth frame we were starting to wonder why our scores sucked so bad compared to the guys in the other lanes. Three is definitely better than two. 50% much more better in fact.
After bowling we went to Boston Pizza for supper. The waitress told us of this decent deal where for a measly $150 she would just keep us bringing whatever we wanted for pizza and drinks. Being the good mennonites that we are, and guys with rather large appetites, we were sure we could milk this one for all it's worth. I think our male egos were still bigger than our stomachs though...we struggled our way through 11 or 12 large pizzas, and enough pepsi and root beer to fill a dugout.
After all that pizza we were basically incapacitated, so a checking out a movie at the new CinemaCity by the former winkler wallmart seemed like a good idea. The Longest Yard. Pretty funny movie... After the movie some of the guys who had to work early the next morning (or that evening!) left, and the other eight of us went to the Forks, looking for trouble and excitement.
We must be getting old or loosing our touch or something, 'cause we didn't seem to find a whole lot of trouble. We did what we could, (keeping it all good and legal of course) and we did have a good time. We climbed everything we could find, jumped off of the rest, played in a few elevators, "toured" the Fort Garry Hotel and gave some money to a guy who's "truck was towed, and he's from Ontario, and he only needed $6 more to get it back, and yadda yadda yadda. He promised to repay it to someone else in need though. Good guy he was.
Yup, it was a blast...my last big night out as a bachelor...it was good to bring back the old times a bit...hadn't spent time with some of the guys for quite a while...gonna miss doin' crazy stuff, and just bein' out with no plan, not having to worry about someone waiting up for me at home. I asked the guys at the party who were married if been better than being a bachelor, and they said most definitely. And they're not even married to the Lovely Liane. Sweet. Can't wait.
He he...just spell checked this post...crazy computer wants to turn CinemaCity into Communist. Close, but not quite.
