Perma-grin :)
Wow, what a great weekend! So many things that I wanted to post on here, but I've been too busy creating memories to bother trying to write them down here. Here's a little recap of a few highlights.
Sunday afternoon I went with Liane to a birthday party for David. It was my first big gathering with her family. I must admit I was a little nervous beforehand...not that I'm not good friends with them already, but it was kinda weird being the only non-German person there. But it was no big deal...in fact, I had an awesome time! Watching David open his gifts was hilarious! Someone gave him a flashlight, and he didn't really notice the flashlight, he was totally pumped about the batteries that came with it though...he even started singing about them :) The coolest part was when they got out some books, and we had a time of praise and worship. Never experienced that at a gathering before, but it was pretty awesome! I didn't know a lot of the songs, but I sang 'em anyway :) We sang a few english ones too.
After David's party, Liane and I went to my Grandma & Grandpa Wolfe's place for an easter gathering. But everyone except for my parents and my uncle John had left a few minutes before we did. We stayed to visit with Grandma for a while, but it was also her 75th birthday, so she kept getting phone call after phone call and we hardly got to talk. It was kinda funny.
Then we went to Heinrich and Irene's place for a while. Kian and Lea, and Irene were all still kinda sick, but we had a great time anyway. We had a little bonus excitement when someone must have tried to get into Liane's car, 'cause the alarm went off. We ran outside, but it was really dark and we couldn't see anyone, but I'm pretty sure I heard someone laughing. After that Heinrich told us a sweet story about a time him and some guys set up a stakeout and almost foiled a robbery.
Yesterday (monday) was a ton-o-fun too. In the morning Liane and I went to Wpg to pick up what was left of my camera. The camera body, two lenses, and my cell phone are all done...destroyed...beyond repair I think. After lunch we went to make an insurance claim, and then went with Tim, Beth, and Ash to the lake trail in Morden. It was absolutely hilarious. There was some significant melting going on, so things were real muddy, but there was still enough snow/ice around to go island hopping down the trail. It was a super slippery, wet, muddy experience. And I'm not sure why, but everyone except me must have figured since it wasn't minus 30 outside that they wouldn't need boots. Wrong! Everyone had soaked feet pretty early on, but to their credit, no one wanted to turn back :) Maybe because we could tell we were in for a real good time with Ash falling all over the place. Beth has got a pretty good post on the afternoon's events, and to keep from being redundant, I'll leave it at that, and you can read her post here. One small note though...she doesn't really mention how high and steep Ash's fall was...it was pretty big. I thought there was no way she was going to come away from it without at least one broken bone. And at the same time, it was one of the most hilarious things I have ever seen! I was exactly like in the movies where the guy goes crashing through the jungle, or rolling down a mountain. I'm not sure how to post video clips on here, but if you send me an email, I'll send you some clips from the hiking trip that'll be sure to make you bust a gut!
Ok, that's enough for now! Oh yeah...yesterday at worship team practice I mentioned to Tim, Beth, Bruce, Heath, Liane, and whoever else was there that I should start carrying a notebook to write down all the hilarious stuff that gets said. Here was Tim's quote of the day (I can't remember the context around it, but it was really funny. He said, in a very matter of fact voice when everything was quiet "well I'm the only one here with a real personality!". So I'll leave it at that :)

I figured that if I brought my boots that I would get even more wet because they have absolutely no grip at all. I would have been falling all over the place just like Ash. (or worse) As it is I only got my feet wet. :)

I don't have boots therefore I could not bring any. I think after we walked through the lake slush my feet got warmer. at least they felt warmer they my have been numb or something. that water was freezing cold. that was an awesome hike though we should do it again soon. maybe when I'm not so sore anymore.
